Why Silence is Essential

The world is made for those who stand out, not those who fit in.
Yes, I believe in the power of positioning.
And, you may have even read my newsletters or heard me at a workshop passionately speaking about the importance of standing out.
Sometimes how you stand out isn’t by what you say but what you don’t say.
Silence.
You may have heard that it’s golden.
Actually, it’s essential.
Silence allows you and those you connect with the chance to think and process their answers.
Leaders use it as a tool in conversations enabling others to figure out solutions to problems all on their own.
And, while silence may be uncomfortable, it affords you the opportunity to be heard and for others to respond.
Silence provides the space for people to think and activate their own genius.
And, that really is golden.
ACTION ITEM: The Upside Challenge of the week is to pause and be silent – even if it makes you uncomfortable.
The world is made for those who stand out, not those who fit in.
Life is Change. Growth is Optional. Choose wisely. Lead Upside.
